Hmm... isnt it a bit slow? I mean IW? On a side note, you can use Cyclone Axe to do AoE with IW. Has a 5sec recharge tho.

Yea, you can Heal Sig + Dist tho. Might work. Just tossing ideas. By the way, you never know, for Chapter 3 they might mix Me/Mo/W for a new profession- the Hexsmitertank.

Me/Mo/W FTW!

Could try a deepwound+Inept+Clum spike and try to avoid the sig completly.

Just a thought.

just my 2cents
I Wouldnt wanna come face to face with a group of enemies.....too dangerous....i would cast INEPTITUDE on 2 of them with help arcne echo and then...stay away while targeting them and energy tapping...Throw Dust is useful.but The recharge is like 45seconds...its not too good.if they keep coming at ya.

I enjoyed Ettin farming with my low level W/Me - that Physical resitance let me do the stance tank thing with my Crimson Carapace shield (though a buddies sword setup has been the best for damage vs. ettins I've seen)... my 55 monk Sucked at doing the ettins, lol...

I really need to get my Me/Ne outta ascalon tonight...

Btw - Ineptitude Rox! Except when you've got a DP when trying to cap it on a lvl 11 char and the boss does 162dmg per hit with it!

Are the drops still good? I tried the ettin farming about 6 or so months ago and would get 2-4 sup rune drops a run... then it dropped to 2-3 majors...and last time I tried it was just a few minor drops.

I still get 4-5 gold drop per farm.

I prefer using my domination build instead IW+distortion. It maybe a little slower than IW but you can get them quickly with 4-5 Ettins at a time without being hit by Irresistible blow.

Sorry, you misunderstood me. I DO NOT use Ineptitude to farm. I'm not that stupid I was just saying that IW is better for farming than it. Personally, I 55 when I want to solo.

Using Echo ineptitude for farming Isnt stupid!!!!!..........Using IW has to go near the target.and when Ettins come str8 at you in a Group....its dangerous to stay and slash.with mesmer armour...i usually cast ineptitude On one.and wait for it to come near.then when it Attack me and spell take effect........i ran away..The blindness helps for me to ran away without getting hit.and then cast again.i don wanna stay put and Use IW with a group of Hard hitting ETTIN surrounding me.

A Me/N domination/inspiration build I used for a while ->

15 Dom / 12 Insp / xx Fast Cast (can't quite remember ^^)

Cry of Frustration
Signet of Midnight
Plague Touch
Spirit of Failure
Empathy
Ether Feast
Physical Resistance
Shatter Hex

Notes
Pretty much unlimited energy with blind + spirit of failure
2 ettins can be kept perma blind like this
A third ettin (not blind) can be tanked with Physical Resistance + Ether Feast
Shatter Hex if for mergoyles, tengu and skales...

And a Me/W build I used quite a bit

14 Insp, 11 Sword, 10 Tactics
Barbed Butterfly Sword of Shelter (+33% bleed, +7AL vs Phys)
Crimson Carapace Shield (+45hits/-2damage in stance)

Savage Slash
Seeking Blade (wish I had Hunderd Blades or Riposte...)
Deadly Riposte
"Watch Yourself!"
Healing Signet
Ether Feast
Physical Resistance

Notes
Straight up fencer (warrior wannabe ) with some tricky timings, like riposting the right target and getting Savage Slash off in time

Pretty sure I had a Me/R archer with Distracting Shot that could do them too

Ettin Farming... the non 55 Mesmer way

Me/W:
IW
Healing Signet (Use this after they use IB)
Conjure Phantasm
Deadly Riptose
IoW
Physical Resistance/Distortion
E-Feast
Cry

~ Works well, DR and Conjure just chew threw the life of your target allowing you to Cry only once. I personally chose PR over Distort as the energy loss can become painful.

Maybe I'm just clueless on Ettins, but where do you see them? I know there outside of Beetletun, but I'm usually 3/4ths dead by the time I get to the Ettins and I have 2 chasing on my ass the whole time.

Is there a better spot for them?
